Heartsaver First Aid & CPR AED

Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (for example, OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. Adult section covers CPR with AED, drug overdose, adult choking, and water safety. Child section covers CPR with AED and child choking. Infant section covers Infant CPR and Infant Choking. First Aid section covers medical emergencies (Asthma, Allergies, Heart Attack, Diabetes), injury emergencies (Shock, bleeding, concussions, broken bones, burns), environmental emergencies (poisoning, bites, stings), and prevention strategies.

Heartsaver First Aid

Medical emergencies don’t occur every day, but when they do, prior training can help you deal with these situations. First Aid section covers medical emergencies (Asthma, Allergies, Heart Attack, Diabetes), injury emergencies (Shock, bleeding, concussions, broken bones, burns), environmental emergencies (poisoning, bites, stings), and prevention strategies.

Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR for Healthcare Providers (Renewal Course)

The American Heart Association (AHA) designed the BLS Course to teach healthcare professionals how to perform high-quality CPR individually or as part of a team. BLS skills are applicable to any healthcare setting. BLS students will learn rescue techniques for adults, children, and infants. For the student to qualify for this class your current BLS CPR Card cannot be more than 30 days expired.

Toni has over 20 years of experience including home care, clinic, nursing home, and hospital care. She specializes in pediatrics and individuals with special needs. She is bringing her education and training as a nurse to instruct others on the importance of being able to intervene during an emergency and have the ability to provide high-quality CPR to others in need. She is a Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor through the American Heart Association (AHA). She is also qualified for training in the AHA’s Heartsaver, First Aid, and CPR with AED Courses.

Brian Diede

Brian has been coordinating and conducting training for over 20 years. His desire to help others drove him to become a certified Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor through the American Heart Association (AHA). What should I wear to a CPR Class?
You should wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will be practicing skills that require working on your hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting.

What if I have a physical condition that might prevent me from participating in the course?
You will need to tell the instructor what your physical condition is as the instructor will work with you to accommodate your abilities within the stated course completion requirements.

Where do I go on the day of the training?
Our training space is located within the Cornerstone building. The address is 507 N Nokomis Street Alexandria, MN 56308. Follow signs for the NextStep Homecare Education Room located on the 2nd floor of the building. There is a stairway at either the front or back of the building. If you require the use of the elevator it is located in the front of building.

Where do I park?
There is parking located in the front or the backside of the building. You are allowed to park wherever there is an open spot.

What if I am sick or unable to attend my scheduled course?
There will be no refunds issued for the class. If you unable to attend as planned, please contact the instructor to reschedule your training.
